Update(1939ET): Israel is conducting more major airstrikes in Beirut Thursday evening. Israeli officials are now claiming that strikes last night targeted head of Hezbollah’s executive committee Hashim Safi al-Din. He’s been widely reported as the likely successor to take over the Shia paramilitary group after Nasrallah’s killing last week.

The coverage of Israeli soldiers pushing three Palestinians off a roof in the West Bank town of Qabatiya – it’s unclear whether the men are dead or near-dead – is being barely reported by the western media, even though it was videoed from at least three different angles and a reporter from the main US news agency Associated Press witnessed it.

Israel completely flattened at least six residential buildings in Beirut’s southern Dahiya district with 2000-pound bombs amid claims that Hezbollah leader Hasan Nasrallah was the target.

Just before midnight on Sunday, Israel began launching waves of unprovoked airstrikes against Syrian targets in the center of the country. The Washington Post and several international outlets are reporting another mass casualty event in Gaza – this time a reported Israeli airstrike on a school in Gaza City sheltering refugees. Gaza’s Civil Defense Force says the attack killed at least 93 people, including women and children.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said it targeted a Hamas command center and has accused Gaza sources of inflating the death toll. However, gruesome images show many mangled and charred civilian bodies strewn all over the ground in the strike aftermath.
