The Turkish air force launched multiple airstrikes overnight on 3 October in northern Iraq and Syria, targeting a vehicle belonging to the US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in Syria’s Hasakah governorate and multiple positions of the SDF-allied Kurdistan Worker’s Party (PKK) in the Iraqi Kurdistan Region (IKR).
Local sources told Al-Mayadeen that “the explosion was caused by a Turkish drone targeting a military vehicle belonging to the SDF at the entrance to the Gweiran neighborhood from the north.”
“The Turkish targeting is the first of its kind in the center of Hasakah,” the source added. …
