Israeli warplanes launched airstrikes on the Deir Ezzor governorate in eastern Syria on 2 October, wounding two Syrian soldiers.

“At approximately 23:50 pm today, Monday 10/2/2023, the Israeli enemy carried out an air attack on some of our armed forces’ positions in the vicinity of the city of Deir Ezzor,” Syrian state-news outlet SANA reported, citing a military source.

“The aggression resulted in two soldiers being injured and some material losses,” it added.

Citing local sources, Anadolu Agency (AA) reported that the strikes hit the Al-Bukamal region bordering Iraq, adding that “Iran-backed groups” were targeted in the bombing. …
