Israeli airstrikes targeted Damascus and Aleppo airports early on 22 October, putting the two facilities out of service once again for the second time this month.
One airport employee at Damascus International Airport was killed and another wounded in the attack.
“At approximately five o’clock and twenty-five minutes this morning, the Israeli enemy simultaneously carried out an air aggression with bursts of missiles from the direction of the Mediterranean Sea west of Latakia and from the direction of the occupied Syrian Golan, targeting the international airports of Damascus and Aleppo,” Syrian state-news outlet SANA cited a military source as saying.
“The aggression led to the martyrdom of a civilian worker at Damascus Airport, the wounding of another worker, and the infliction of material damage to the landing strips of the two airports, which led to them being put out of service,” the military source added.
The two airports had already been struck by Israel just ten days ago, crippling both of them. …
