Over 1,100 Palestinians Displaced by Israeli Settlers Since 2022: UN – The Cradle 9/26/23

Since 2022, more than 1,100 Palestinians from 28 different communities in the occupied West Bank have been displaced due to increasing violence by Israeli settlers, according to the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs.

The UN office reported that Israeli settlers carried out 1,614 attacks against Palestinians since last year, with each instance resulting in either casualties or property damage, amounting to an average of 80 incidents per month. The UN office further disclosed that from 2022 to the fall of 2023, settler violence reached its highest level since the UN began to document settler activity in 2006.

The UN’s humanitarian coordinator for the occupied Palestinian territories, Lynn Hastings, noted that “the UN has recorded unprecedented levels of settler violence against Palestinians this year.”

Additionally, four Palestinian communities have been entirely displaced since last year, while another six communities have seen their populations decline by 50 percent….
